The Queen of ShebaThe legend says that Solomon (the name means “peaceful”), son of David and King of Israel, was born c. 1000 BC. King Solomon’s most celebrated quality was his wisdom. According to the Bible, the Queen of Sheba (an ancient kingdom located in present-day Ethiopy), having heard of this great wisdom, went to Solomon with gifts, spices and gold. In return, Solomon gave her whatever she asked for, and she left “satisfied”.

Folk tales, fancy stories about her love with Solomon, a number of books, and Hollywood, have immortalized the now legendary Queen of Sheba, this beautiful, powerful, and fascinating woman.

Melusine is a figure of Celtic folklore and a feminine spirit or fairy. When Raymondin came across Melusine in a forest in France, he fell in love and proposed marriage. Melusine agreed to marry this young and handsome lord, but led one condition: that he must never enter her chamber a Saturday. After this, she gave birth to ten sons and erected a magnificient castle for her beloved husband. Nevertheless, Raymondin broke his promise, and saw Melusine naked in her bath with her body ended in a serpent’s tale. She forgave him, but when he called her a “snake” in front of his court, she took the form of a dragon and flew into the sky, never to return.

In the Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman. Her name means “all-gifted”. Just like Eve, she was not able to resist her curiosity. When Prometheus stole fire from the gods, Zeus sent this beautiful and charming creature to his brother Epimetheus… as a punishment. With her, Pandora had a jar that she was not to open under any circumstance; but the gods had made her curious, and she opened it – and released all the evils of mankind. She quickly closed the lid, but all its contents had escaped. Only one thing remained inside: Hope.
