In the Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman. Her name means “all-gifted”. Just like Eve, she was not able to resist her curiosity. When Prometheus stole fire from the gods, Zeus sent this beautiful and charming creature to his brother Epimetheus… as a punishment. With her, Pandora had a jar that she was not to open under any circumstance; but the gods had made her curious, and she opened it – and released all the evils of mankind. She quickly closed the lid, but all its contents had escaped. Only one thing remained inside: Hope.
